To update:

I got the job at my LFS, so now this project should get moving along a lot faster than originally thought out, so that should be nice.

I'll be doing general sales at first, but I was told possibly helping with saltwater because I'm one of a few people there with saltwater knowledge. No matter what I do though It should be a fun job.

Definitely! I can't wait, I think I am going to probably spend the entire first paycheck on stuff... I've been waiting so long. I think I deserve it.

Got bored of doing so much homework today, so I took a little time and drew up some of my Sump/Fuge plans. It's not really to scale or anything too fancy, but I'm sure you'll get the general idea.

Also, somewhere in the sump/fuge a UV sterilizer is going to be inline, as well as a homemade carbon reactor (got the idea from a RL moderator). Haven't decided if I will also make one for Rowaphos. But those are the plans. Now just waiting on the job to start paying off.

I went ahead this morning and purchased a SEIO 1500! I'm looking forward to seeing the flow that I get out of that. I'm not sure if I'm going to add another 1500 down the road, or just purchase a 1100. If I have two 1500s running in my tank, that would be about 40x and with one 1500 and one 1100 that is about 35x turnover plus whatever is supplied by my Mag 7 return pump. So either route I'll have plenty of flow.

Well my first week of work is almost over. It's been really a great experience so far, and I've learned quite a bit. I handled rats for the first time, and come to find out they are quite gentle. Anywyas now I'm just waiting for that first paycheck so I can purchase some Liverock, and Livesand, and get this tank cycling... finally!

After I purchase those things I'm then going to save my money for the lights, and skimmer. And somewhere in between there I'll add my sump. Ahhh, spending money is so much fun.

Wow..nice planning for your sump. I'd like to have a phosban reactor..no room

My daughter wanted a pet rat for the longest time..LOL~ Just when I was going to allow her to get one, she changed her mind! I have heard they are intelligent.

I was hesitant at first to pick up the rats, but they are so personable, and they intrigue me. Right now we have a group of siblings divided in two displays right next to each other, and they keep trying to find a way under the divider, I'm thinking they'll come up with something so they can be together.

I've decided to try and use the reactor when everything is running because my old tank has a bad phosphate problem that lead to a huge hair algae outbreak, and I don't feel like dealing with that again. The only thing I'm uncertain of is how much ROWAPHOS that I'll have to run in it. Is there a rule of thumb?

Got the new SEIO 1500 in yesterday, and speedily mounted it in my tank. It creates an intense amount of flow. With the one pump alone I'm at 20x turnover, but I'm looking for a little more, so a little down the road I'm going to buy another SEIO so I'll have somewhere around 30-40x flow.

Ordered some IO salt last night, as well as a WON 250w titanium LCD heater. So as soon, as I get that salt, and the tank heated to where I need I'm going to buy the livesand, and half of my LR for the time being.

It's so exciting finally getting things put into the tank. I'll take some pictures later of the SEIO in action to hold all of you over.

Will do Woody! Decided to go with that because of the LCD temp display, that way i don't need a thermometer. I should be getting it in a couple of days, and after that's in I"ll get the sand, and order the rock, and finally take some pics with something in my tank!
