Water test 8/8/05

I've been testing my water about every 3-4 days, and now for three weeks straight they have been running very constant. Even with my higher bioload the nitrates are being eliminated somewhere along the line. Which is good that everything is stable especially since I want to start ordering some SPS.

SG: 1.024
pH: 8.2
trates: 0
trites: 0
Ca: 460
KH: 120

Fabulous photos and the Anthias look like they are doing very well. Are all your critters getting along swimmingly!

Thanks Craig! All of my fish are doing wonderfully together, no disputes except for a few between the anthias in the begnning, but I half expected that and there weren't any injuries.

The only problem that I'm having with my tank is a few apstasia that have popped up here and there, my peppermint shrimp has taken out a few, but I'm going to try irradicating them with Joes Juice next week.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

My heart is full of polyps I guess...LOL. I must have my shrooms and zoos. Careful with those Gorgs when you're putting your paws in the tank, they must be even more delicate than SPS. Hope your bluebell? pulls through.

Thanks Robert, it's full of hard work, dedication, and the most important factor patience...

I'm adding the first couple of "sticks" LOL, to my collection later today when I receive my shipment from Sharkysreef. Dennis was very helpful with every question that I had, especially with me being new to the world of SPS. So he set me up with some "beginner" frags that I can't wait to unpack and start acclimating. Should be a great time, and yes I will post pictures.

Re: JKreef's 75 Gallon Project

UPDATE!

SPS corals are doing suprisingly well after being acclimated to my lighting. One of the acros started to recede a bit, but then came back with all it's glory. The frags still have some growing and coloring up to do, and I'm allowing time for that. I'm just an observer, nothing else is being added(except for a few more snails(dang hermits!)...nor moved around. Feeding my fish, and doing water changes keep me sufficed for now but,,,but I'm feeling the itch to start another nano.

Re: JKreef's 75 Gallon Project

Update:

New specimens being acclimated as I type this....

I decided after a long week of thought to buy a Purple Long Tentacle Anemone that we've had at work for two weeks under pretty crappy PC lighting. I figure it should color up even better under my MH . And hopefully my percula pair will take a liking to him.

Secondly, I cracked down and purchased a Psychedelic Mandarin that came into the store all fat and happy. I know you're all thinking my tank is too young for any mandarins, but get this,,, I got him to start eating Brine and Mysis shrimp, and he has been for about a week now! So tonight he's going in the tank aswell.

I'll take some pictures after they are done acclimating.

Re: JKreef's 75 Gallon Project

Took a few pictures after both the LTA and the mandarin went in the tank, but then with my luck the camera battery died, so I'm charging those suckers up for a little bit, and then I will post them pictures.

Re: JKreef's 75 Gallon Project

SPS is a great coral for someone who wants to see growth rates. They do this very well in both Montipora and Acropora sp. H20 quality and movement are key along with MH lighting for amazing color.Post the pics!!!
