| Acropora ![]() | well I'm running the lights today to see what kind of heat I get from them. It does light up the room with them on but they really don't seem to be all that hot. I can put my hand on the hood (warm to the touch) I put my hand on the top of the tank (again warm to the touch) the air is warm under the hood and the ballests are warmer then anything else but not burning up.... well so far so good... | Moderator ![]() | OMG! Stunning!! Bummer about the cracks though! If it were me, I would wait for either a new one or see if someone could replace it for you. There is a possibliliy that in time, those cracks could become worse. But, I can certainly understand your impatience!! What a beautiful set up!! |

| Wannabe Guru ![]() | It looks great Dave ! I know all about waiting I was told 11 weeks ended up being 15 weeks for my tank which is frustrating and then setting up all the equipment and then the transfer but it was all worth it hang in there ![]()

| Acropora ![]() | Thanks Gina, Thanks Cheeks69, Thanks Eveyone..... I'm just frustraited, upset, mad, PO'd, etc..... After I got the lights mounted last night I proceeded to tip a few back.... I just wanted to get this thing going before we went to the Keys (7 more weeks) but it doesn't look like that is going to happen with the way my luck is going. I'm 4000.00 lighter in the pocket book and still no water in the tank, but I got the tank..... Dave |

| Acropora ![]() | Ok, After speeking to the structural engineer he tells me there is no issue here. Reason being the bottom piece is only 1/8 inch thick and it is only there to hold water in the event of a leak. If the front or the back or the top where cracked that would be a differant story. I am verifying that they are still going to fully warranty the stand the way it is (in writting). He also stated that if I am concerned with it I can patch it and they are sending me patch blocks and glue to patch the cracks if I want to but it is not necessary. As far as the wet/dry filter, it missed the shipment and went out the next day so I should have it today or tomorrow. So I guess I'll patch it and continue on....... I guess he is right, after thinking about it what he said makes since, all the load is supported by the support ribs that are in the stand and not the base piece, these ribs are glued together and if you look at the picture the way this is designed the rib that runs from the top to the bottom actually do not run all the way to the floor, they use another block to adjust the height. These two pieces are cemented together and hold the weight so a patch should be ok..... Dave |

| Acropora ![]() | Well here is the latest. I received the wet/dry today and started to assemble it. It is actually two Boxes with a 3 inch pipe connecting the two. However the pipe was not long enough to get the bulkhead fittings in both sides (the support ribs are to far apart). So I called Andy (AGAIN) and spoke to him, he said he would be calling Tenecor and having them contact me. Well after about 2 hours I finally got fed up and called Tenecor. Well I got ahold of the salesman that works with ARB Distributing and guess what? Well guess? They are sending me a new stand, that is built correctly and they are going to overnight it. Should be here this Friday or possibly Monday or Tuesday of next week. Well I must say, I feel much better.... I have to remove all the sand and base rock I have in it but that is ok with me....
