| WOLVERINE~ | Re: Witty's Monster 210 Experiment MAJOR FLOOD AT WITTY'S!!!!!!! well, for those around from the beginning of this tank,,,,i was trying an idea,,,,DONT EVER DO THAT!! i cut through the overflow to install a closed loop. well,,,today we had a major houseshaking thunderstorm. enough to cause a partial landslide in the tank. i fixed it up, but what i didnt realize is that it hit and broke the seal on the intake of the closed loop. jump ahead to tonight,,,another house shaking thunderstorm. power goes out,,,im laying in bed. next thing i hear is water running out of the sump onto the floor. i jump up and i have lost about 50+ gallons and still flooding. buckets and towels fly into action,,,and all by candle and flashlight!!! i rip off the plumbing to the closed loop and stuff towels into the holes. taking the lid of a salt bucket i cut patches and super glue them over the holes in the overflow. pressing as hard as a dutch boy at the dike. i got them patched, but ripped up my arm while in the overflow from the tank edge. power came back around 130AM, shop vac is on now and i got the tank topped off. so,,,please listen to me,,,never EVER mess with your overflows!! no matter how good it works,,,remember Murphy was an optimist!!!!!

| WOLVERINE~ | Re: Witty's Monster 210 Experiment oh,,,just thought i would add this,,,i think i know what caused our power to go out and all the vibrations.....i live near a major intersection with a forest grove surrounding my house. well,,,as i had the dog out, i noticed something. about 30ft from my house in the grove,,,about 15' of the top of a tree is missing! i think the big flash/crack bang was the cause. at the corner there are power company guys at the main junction boxes.....i think we had an electo-magnetic pulse from a lightning strike.
