Dave do you think it was Amyloodiniosis or "Marine Velvet" ? It just seems that they died very quickly, when I've had serious Ick infestation it would take several weeks before they succumbed.

There are some fish that are too fragile to Q like the MI's or the Bi-color Angel so buying a healthy one is important, the problem is they could carry the parasite without any visible signs and infect all the other fish so it's a dilemma.

I'm happy for you that everyone else seems to be clear of ich! How long do you plan on waiting before you think about adding any other fish?

Everything looks good!

My first time on this post Witt, sorry for not loolin' earlier

Bricks !!!

took a few more shots of my idol,,,these are for those that want to see,,,yes it can be done. others have, i have, hmmm,,,,never listen to the nay sayers!

Nay, nay

Ok fun aside. Really sorry here. What did these fish look like when they were sick. How long did it take before you noticed it and they were dead ?

Possibilites

1. Amyloodinium

2. Brooklynella

3. Uronemia

4. Vibrio (a virulent bacterial infection)

5. Crytocaryon (ick) maybe in a short time but rarely. It depends on what cycle they are in.

still have 3 fish and they are clean

That means nothing, they can still be carriers

well sometimes its good to be lucky and in the right place at the right time. i have to thank my friends at Aquarium Discount Center for frying their showtanks antique MH ballast. they had just replaced the 15 yr old canopy with a beautiful new euro design setup. so the old one was going to be dumpster bound. this is where i walk in...its on the floor i ask,,,i get.

now i have a project, and yes i love a project! here are a few shots of what im up against,,,15 yrs of salt spray, dust, and grime. as you can see its not pretty, but could have been worse!

so,,,off i go to buy sand paper and stain...took alot of sanding! once with 100 grit, once with 150 grit, then polished twice with 220 grit. then a sweet cherry stain and poly sealer. its dry now, but hard to take pics at 5:15AM so ill just tease you all a bit, when the sun comes up,, ill unviel the final results
