snickerdoodles are just sugar cookies with a bunch of cinnamon and sugar on top. Get the roll 'o' dough of sugar cookie mix from the freezer aisle in the supermarket and section out a batch, then put a mix of cinnamon and sugar on top before baking.

Oh no they are not LOL!

My mom made the best snickerdoodle cookies and they tasted nothing like sugar cookies with cinnamon and sugar on top.

I think the secret ingredient is the cream of tartar.

My moms cookies were crispy and cracked on top but soft in the middle and definitely tasted different than a sugar cookie.
