I'm curious also as to what you are using to hold them in place?

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Thanks for the kind remarks. The coral rocks although looking like an unstable setting are all keyed together. as an additional saftey measure the rocks are epoxied to each other mostly in the back side. there is actually no give in the rock structure at all. what appears to be loose in the front is keyed in the bottom back part and epoxied. started the equipment shed sump support framing today. i was going to use althread and epoxy to anchor the bottom and wall side boards to the concrete and masonry wall. well i got talked out of it in favor of the swedge anchors. bah!!!!! should have done it my way with the expoxy and althread. will do the wall that way but will use the swedges for the bottom piece. pics soon. just got started and weather came in so had to shut down. no lights or out lets yet in shed, but have 2 - 20 amp circuits deadheaded into a junction box inside the shed. just need to run the lines and install the outlets and switches. well bout all for now.

Finally some progress on the equipment shed. following are pic's of the platform support, partial deck, and finally two pieces of the filtration system, a CPR CY- 294, and a 100 gal acrylic aquarium as part of sump system.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Just an update. Have just finished the hose bib retrofit and addition, so now I have two outlets in the equipment shed for water and a new outlet outside of the equipment shed. I have ordered the following equipment to incorporate into the system. With much debate and many hours of reasearch of the new equipment available out there I have decided on the following items;

1-Calcium reactor - Premium aquatics GEO 618 with ph controller and probe.
2-Protien skimmer - Euro Reef RC 250.
3-Chiller - 1/4 hp Pacific Coast CL-650 - inline- comes with built in controller and heater plug in.

Bulk heads received today so will start drilling the sumps and connecting. we have decided to eliminate the electric kitchen range and go to gas so that will relieve some of the electrical load on the house electrical system.

Thats about it for now except I added some more coral rock in the form of flat platforms to facillitate more selections for placement of clams, corals etc. pics soon as things progress.
