Here is a pic with the tubes adjusted for full intensity and full moon. it is darker now so you can get an idea of the possibilities. i will have to rotate the tubes upward but will wait until reef is in and water before final adjustment. only moon lights on at time of pic.

Very nice! I'll have to bookmark that link! I think I might like those a little better than the leds we have.
Thanks for the shot!

Down circulation assembly

here is a pic of one of the four down circulation assemblies. it will connect to a 3/4" valve and be supported on the canopy with an acrylic spacer and clamp. the 3/4" ball flex to the 1/2" ball flex with a FLO (flo rotating deflector) on the end will be bent outward from the back wall to get the most favorable circulation behind the reef. pics when installed.

here is a pic of the circulation return one of four. and a front pic of the item. the valve is just above the pic at the top. the end has a rotating deflector and the bell flex allows me to adjust the angle for the best circualtion. the output is deflected so is not just hard leneal like a pump outlet but dispursed and wide. rotates 360 degrees. will post pic when all 4 are installed. reef will hide most of it.

Very cool jhnrb ! I have seen the FLO hooked up to ph's but never loc-line, have you tested it yet ? I have heard from those that use it with the ph's it they mention it restricts the flow too much, have you noticed that ?

ok lets see if i can explain this. yes these units do restrict flow as the output is not leanear. what i am trying to accomplish with these outlets is chaotic flow behind the reef itself not leanear flow and so the restriction for my purpose is beneficial, as i also have two sea swirls connected to this loop system unrestricted rated at 550 g/p/h each. the pump a dolphin 1200 pond master is used and the excess apprx 200 g/p/h is to be bled off to the four down circulatiors. all of this is in additon to the two 3/4 returns from the main pump rated apprx 650 g/p/h each. so the idea is to have water moving behind reef that is not too leanear and circulates the entire back side, then the sea swirls will move surface water by rotaing 90 degrees to about 6 inchs off back wall, and finally the main returns turned slightly down towards the front center and opposing each other so flow meets at center apprx. I should get a well mixed circulation that is somewhat constantly changing. we will see. now following are 2 pics. a final pic of 2/3 of the inside of the canopy, and a pic of the tank front to show the 4 down circulators. the reef will hide most of it and next will be the building of the reef structure as i start on the equipemnt shed. thats it for now. questions are welcome.

No questions just admiration! Looks like a very viable setup. Can't wait to see them in action.

Looks great!! Very neat and clean!

Make sure you can clean that clear tubing easily because you will get lots of algae growing inside it. I have the same tubing in my sump and have to clean it a lot or the algae restricts the flow.

I have the FLO rotating nozzle, and I love it. it doesnt restrict flow too much, and its complete 360 deg. of flow.
