Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Cannot hear anything in the house, completely quiet. well a leak. drip drip drip. I was hoping to not have to deal with this. one fitting questionable and I went with it. so guess what. it leaked. :smck: I fixed it and water is running. added salt. will start to balance out the salinity and temp rest of week. Local guy tore down a 240 system. we scored about 20 corals for 600, three of which are tyree spcecials. very good buy. I paid and a friend will keep and frag (do all the work unitl I am ready. so I guess I am motivated now. will start to bring on line the rest of the equipment and run the 2nd circuit. bout it for now.

Nothing like a "need" to get things accelerated, eh? Sounds like a great find on the corals, can't wait to see pics!

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

It just wouldn't have been right if you didn't need to fix at least one leak. Some days i get bored and trouble seems to bring in the action! catastrophe's i can do without but a leak or to too keep me on my toes i can handle.

well I guess your right. only thing is I knew it would most likely be a problem if there was one. ohwell, one leak keeps us honest.

Will be a bit before corals added. at a friends for fraggin and safe keeping till im ready. working on stablizing salinity, temp, and clearing up murky water. since the system is so sterile, and the salt was mixed in the large sump, it might be a couple weeks before it clears up. I may just kick start it with some uncured live rock. havent decided yet. bout it for now. skimmer is on to oxygenate the water. will be working on more equipment and 2nd elec. circuit for heater and chiller this week. as soon as i have something of interest ill post some more pics.
