Re: jhnrb 150 reef

This is the most elaborate setup I've ever seen !
I too was looking at a Geo reactor, what are you using as a feed pump the aqualifter ? Why the use of several skimmers ? Are you planning to have a very high bio-load ?

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

The multible skimmers to blow off excess ozone. the carbon tops havent yet been fabricated. also to keep system saturated with oxygen. Im using a mag 7 for the feed pump to the geo. depending on your setup you may want to go lower or higher. Im using the ehiem 1048 A which came with the reactor and was ordered at the same time. it came with the required fittings and adapters to connect it up properly and the base holes aline with the reactors base holes for attachment to the base. also it can run wide open so you do not have to fiddle with any valves, flows etc. and is easy to clean and maintain.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Just a short clarification. Im using the mag 7 to feed the euro reef skimmer, and the ehiem 1048 for the calcium reactor. hope this clears it up.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Well most of the progress was on the right side of the equipment room. so now im working on the left side. following are two pictures barrels cleaned and set in approx. location. not yet plumbed in, and the 2nd is the required coffee cup that I must use when dealing with the hobby at my house.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

How true that coffee cup! Barrels for RO/DI system on left wall?

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

One barrel for ro/di make up water and one barrel for fresh salt water for water changes. barrels will be seperated by valves and automated as much as possible. heated and air 24/7. float switches, and pumps to provide supplies. general concept. will evolve as it developes. will incorporate changes that I did not like with my last system.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Holy smokes! This thread is like a fine wine, it gets better with time! I just can't believe it, everything you'd ever want all wrapped up in a tidy little shed. If I had that, you'd not be able to get me out of there. I'd be like the the Great Wizard of Oz, with an amplifier system, booming at everyone that came to the reef! LOL! Increadible!

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

The two black boxes on the upper left and right are 150 watt wireless speakers. while construction continues then, well we will see. The barrels export will be by small automated pumps.
