Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Equipment room progress: - electrical with on/off switching for the uv sterilizer, chiller pump, heaters. Pinpoint monitors mounted. auto kalk reactor makeup water installed except the makeup barrel and line from the doser to the makeup barrel, more electrical completed with on/off switching for chiller pump, uv sterilizer, heates. Dosing units mounted and connected to sump. The auto kalc reactor is controled by a float switch in the last sump. all makeup will be kalk when needed. (not all systems will be energized until they are needed.)

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Looks great! Thanks for the update. I like how nice and neat everything is. So the dosing pump is also going to be for the top off with kalk? This is interesting to me because im building a reactor soon. Im just waiting for the clear acrylic.

The R/O resevore is a 50 gal barrel not in yet. The feed line from the barrel not in yet will go to the doser, the doser has a level sensor built in and the unit is installed in the last sump with the heaters. When the water level lowers due to evaporation, the doser will kick on and supply makeup water through the reactor. The reactor has its own pump that will be on its own timmer for stirring. Naturally when I 1st start up the system kalk will not be needed so this system will be functioning with no kalk powder in the reactor until such time I need it.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

For the pumps in the bottom of the sump needed some way to dampen vibration on the acrylic so following is the fix for the mag-2 pump feeding the Phosphate reactor;
