Re: jhnrb 150 reef

So the refugium is a gravity flow to the sump? Very nice work!

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Yes a gravity flow fed by main pump. Ive opted to run most of the circulation off of the main pump. Will be less equipement/pumps to deal with and the main pump will be on a batt. back up which will give me time to get the generator started should there be a power outage.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Latest progress: pics of chiller, heaters, plumbing, controller. The controller is not yet connected to electrical. a little overdone on the pics but, thought it would be interesting to some.

Unhappy Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Well I took off the week of christmas from work. It was my intention to get water in the system, however, I came down with a very bad cold last day of work and have been grounded for the entire week and may some of this comming week, so, no progress to report. 10 days lost on project. getting better now so will hopefully have some progress to report soon. Installing the controller hookups, and an electrical strip. Will be plumbing in the Barrels and other reactors and equipment in the next few weeks.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

was just browsing through the thread again... i wanted to give my 2 cents on something i noticed... I did my buddies fishroom and ran a copper line in for a sink... It doesn't look copper color anymore.. Not sure why but it probably has to do with the salt in the air... I see a copper line going to a tee in your picture.. Not sure if u will have the same problem.. but just wanted to let you know...

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Yea this is a water line tapped off of the main feed for the house which is done in copper. I do expect some discoloration to take place if left uncoated. Ive been playing with the idea of coating it with something to protect it from the air. Now that you memtion it, I will have to address that issue again. thanks for the comment.

Re: jhnrb 150 reef

Heaters wired in to outlet box with on off switch and from there blue tubing to controller connection.

Reef completed with some added shelves for clams, corals or whatever. Pic not too good but reef is now completed.
