Re: Lagoon-Backreef Setup

some more shots to add...
bad news , my gonipora i have had for 2 months is deteriorating...don't know if because of the temp issues or just not feeding well enough...i have not been able to feed it with visible eating...
My A. ocellaris clowns in their host clones green bta's:

My Condylactis gigantea anemonae (>15 months old) - good expanded shot (note the gorgonian it doesnt like in foreground ):

got this at IMAC, sitting in my frag tank which is being ignored, so put in the main tank...? murilina and a small frag of blasto on right:

note the pale acropora ?humilis in foreground from November:

acro now starting to grow good (as is the stylophora from IMAC):

Orange skirt zo's under actinics:

Copperbanded butterfly pic - best so far i have been able to take

Re: Lagoon-Backreef Setup

Did you have any issues with the seahorse tank being plumbed into the reef tank? I have been wanting to try this for awhile, but was told it won't work out too good because the seahorses need lower temps.

well originally no, but i broke it down for time/expense issues, so my seahorse tank is seperate 36 gallon...see link on my page http://www.forestalsfish.com/seahorse.html

seahorses need temps (tropical ones) in low to mid 70's.

interesting issue is i have discovered that my temps have been 74-78 in my reef tank, things are growing and are doing well...reading sprung's/delbeek's new book, they make reference to keeping reef tank temp's in 75-78 range

if you have H.erectus or H.kuda's (what i am familiar with) they like the temps in 74-78 range, and plumbed into the reef tank would help keep the water quality up, but i don't think you need to do that...i run an emperor 400 on mine plus live rock and weekly 30% water changes

thanks for the compliments y'all
