It's like this, as well as any other home project. It will require, every tool in your arsenal, several trips to Home Depot, some cussing, bandaids, inquiries, mistakes and dedication. You have the basics, now expand the basics and tell us a new or different way to do things.

BTW, grandpa has some skillz!
Grandpa has a handy dandy machine that he tells it what to do and it does it. But he is pretty much an all around fabricator, and hes pretty good at what he does.

I just dont really want to overlook anything, and with the 55 coming down and a new 90 going up in a week or two, coupled with a few small medical things I have doing on right now, I know im bound to overlook something small and not be too happy about it.

I have actually considered this one, hence the zipties, but I dont know exactly how I want to go about doing it. It will definitely allow much more flow through the mountain if it was a hollow mountain.

That one I dont know if I will need or not, the clear one I used for the 55 grew bad algae for a few weeks and then was taken over by coralline and as long as I dont scrape it off nothing else can take hold. If I wanted to though I could probably glue a few pieces of black acrylic to the inside though.

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

I guess you could have the rocks work up to the overflow, I just think that you might be unhappy with being able to see the standipe and the lower water level inside.

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

Yea, it gets covered fairly quickly though, I just take a piece of fairly coarse sandpaper to the outside and give it a few quick swipes and that gives it something to take hold on, makes it much faster of a process!

Does your 55 have a DIY overflow? If so, show us a picture of what it looks like now.

Just for the record, not to squelch your suggestion Steve. We're all brainstorming here. All suggestions are welcome.
