I vote for putting the Purple tang in the DT until you get the QT under control with the proper level of bacteria to process the wastes. Then when you are ready to breakdown the 55 move the tang back to the QT after taking steps to get it ready for proper QT parameters.

Why thank you, good to have you here, wouldnt be complete without everyone from my old build thread. I actually considered sending out a joke pm inviting everyone who was tagging along on the 55 thread to the new "party area"

See, thats what im thinking too. The next question though is what happens if it does wonderfully in the 55, I know technically it "should" be QT'd for a while, but would it really accomplish anything or can it go right into the 90.

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

Im more of a fish person myself. You really cant name a coral, they dont have individual personalities, they are just more fun in my opinion. Now, that doesnt mean I dont love corals, I just love fishies a wee bit more...

Corals = {-----------------}
Fishies= {--------------------}
Family and Friends = {---------------}

That, by the way, is the individual love meter J/K

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

I don't name anything, corals are acros, monti, etc. Fish are either fish or common names. I even call my dog "dog". Her name according to my wife is daisy though.

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

lol, most of the fish have names, and my dog is named Tyco!

In other news, the acclimation process has begun, the drip line is dripping into the bucket and her favorite hiding place, the big @$$ pvc pipe piece, is in there with her, so it should all be good.

Re: Jeremy's 90 Gallon Build Mayhem!!

I usually don't acclimate stuff either. I put the bag into the tank, cut a small hole or cut the corner off. Wait about 5 minutes and dump. I know it is terrible, I'll get all kinds of horrible things from my LFS water, my stuff will all die, blah, blah, blah. I haven't had any problems with doing it that way. I think that I acclimated my $95 dollar acro for slightly longer, but only about 15 minutes.
