Tank Positioning: Position on the substrate in the bottom of the tank in a low to moderate water flow area if intense lighting is provided. Otherwise position higher up in the tank in a secure location where it is not in danger of falling..
hmm, i could put it on sand bed, but im not sure about intense lighting. theres a nice open spot in the middle of my tank like 6" from water line..?

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

T. derasa come from deeper waters than both the T. crocea and T. maxima. They prefer lower light levels. They are substrate dwellers.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

cool, im going to make a few calls tomorrow. it seems that no online vendors have deresas. oh well, thats $40 to a more colorful clam.

NEVER EVER BUY ONYX NASSARIOUS SNAILS! ! !
first of all i thought they were sand dwellers, well half of mine are. the other half like my glass. these things are so annoying. they get right infront of my powerhead with their cone shaped shells. and i hear this non stop clicking noise because the current from the PH makes the shell tap on the glass. tap, tap, tap...

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

some of my snails would do this. my solution knock them off lol. my dersea is about 3.5-4in (he grows fast) he opens as wide as he is long lol. he is also on my sandbed. another is he looks more purple with purple mixed in his brown from a side view and from top view the purple is green!

Have you considered deworming it? Was it like that when you got it?
