Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

wash your hands like an hour or two before you put them in the tank. i don't see how a human sickness would affect marine fish but i don't know for sure. just a guess

Why are your clownfish black and white? Were they cheaper because they're the wrong color?

sticking with the 29 gallon!

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

thanks brad i have some stunning pink/ purple zoas arriving on friday

im cutting back on my picture addiction so heres a phone pic of my green mo nster, and phone vids of eating time. usually the shrimp eat huge pieces, and the lawnmoer too but it was not that night

Star eating. sorry i had to get the baster and shoot the food at it. also i guess i took it sideways...sorry

food

???

just some perspective of how everything eats.

one question... my clown (only one) is getting faded black spots on it. i have been seeing a clown rub on my torch but didnt remember which one. could those dots be stings from the torch? no high quality pics, cant use the camera when im sick lol...

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

The black dots are USUALLY a sign of coral stings, they will more than likely get used to it and go away.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

thats what i thought, my dads clowns had some black dots when the anemone was first intoduced also.

the clown with the black dots, also has its forhead like indented.. on one side it looks like he got squished inbetween a rock, but that couldnt have hapenned? what happens happens, until i can get a good pic

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

well during my craigslist search i found this 75g aquarium. the guy said it was DAS ( dutch aquarium systems(thanks jeremy) he removed the filters because it wasnt good enough for him, and added a HOB Overflow box to it. it comes with a 20g sump also. it has MH too. heres the posting.

Quote:
**** FURNITURE GRADE AQUARIUM**** - $500

FOR SALE: D. A. S. 75 GALLON AQUARIUM, INCLUDES STAND, TANK, CANOPY, 20 GALLON SUMP TANK, METAL HALIDE LIGHTS, LOTS OF ACCESSORIES. $500.00 OBO POSSIBLE TRADE FOR ???
now the price obviously would be coming down, or no deal. i decided to meet him to look at it this weekend, he seemed like he didnt knoe too much about it. also said the bulbs need to be replaced so theres another $150ish.
if you have any questions about his tankask me, and ill try to figure them out. i have some too, but ill have to use my own knowledge on saturday to answer my questions

i like the tall canopy, that mean minimal heat tranfer from MH. also i will have a thousand fans in that thing!

not the 100 upgrade i wanted, but its an extra 6" width to work with

I would wait for a bigger tank. I know you Cole and you won't be happy with this for very long.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

I'd try to talk him down to around $400. While this might not be the exact size that you want, the fact that it includes everything means that you can have a second tank setup! Or, you can remove the stuff from it when you upgrade.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

i would sell my 55g to fund for the 75. i do really like how it has a sump, and MH but its not the 100-125 like i wanted. i think that i can make a profit off of that tank, if i find a bigger one later
