Its tiny, but still impressive for a fish.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

i dont know what to do about the tangs! the yellow is like my dog which is like family. then again he wouls be better off in a bigger tank. the purple is small, and a great price. the purple should do well in my tank until io upgrade to a 100ish. ugh i dont know... what would you do ?

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

Like I said, I wont cross the line and tell anyone to get something like that for a 55 gallon tank, its just not the "correct" move in almost everyones eyes. I have had success with my original mistake, and this time things will be done differently pertaining to feeding and tank upgrading and other conditions. If you think you can handle it and you will be upgrading soon then I wont say no, but I wont be saying yes to this either...haha

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

You know my opinion on the subject so I won't clutter the thread but I will say it is a bad idea to have the yellow and the purple at the same time. If you really want the purple then get rid of the yellow first. These two tangs are in the same family and are very likely to fight. Any new fish needs to be watched but putting these 2 together in a small tank would be a really bad idea.
Glad to hear things are going well. A xenia for frogspawn trade is one I would take any day.

A reef tank is like a race car. The faster you go the harder you crash.

Yep, I already stated that my Yellow was finding a bigger home before the purple went anywhere near the tank Having both in the same tank would be a horrible idea indeed!

THey are quite pretty. Since someone has to say it I'll just get it over with.

"you shouldn't put him in there"

there it's done. you have been advised.

it is a nice looking tang though.. what would you do with your yellow? The lfs here has 3 of them that are under 2" in size. very nice little guys. if you do get another tang, please get rid of the yellow first.

Re: New Reefers 55 gallon Reef Experiment

no doub t ditch teh yellow first! i was going to set the shipping date as far back as i could to give it time to sell my tang. i would start on craigslist so i know who will buy it, and what they have then if i run out of time to the LFS he goes.
