Re: sambrinar's 75 gals office sanity

Hiya Diane, thanks for checking in....Nope not bottom drilled, I wish would have made things easier.

Well picts are gonna have to wait, we are still trying to plumb the stoopid thing, had to cut some of the back out of the stand, need more PVC Pipe, had to move one of the baffles for the return pump. Which I must say I had siliconed in VERY well, geesh.

AND Scott you win, I am prolly gonna cover the back in black unless I can get the rock (if it ever gets here) to cover the PVC Pipe, not exactly attractive

Picts either tomorrow (I am coming down here to finish it, maybe) or on Monday... I promise

Re: sambrinar's 75 gals office sanity

I think you will like the back BLACK. you know you could always get the back backing that has the blue on the other side./ this way you could always try it both ways. I did and decided that i liked the black backing better.

I'm gonna pm you a "mod" to help hide the pvc pipe.

Re: sambrinar's 75 gals office sanity

Hey Brenda... Heres a thought... Ive been considering doing this to some of the exposed pvc i already anticipate in my tank.
I dont want to see the ugly stuff either. not for 2 seconds. so I thought that I would roll the pvc lightly in silicone then in sand to cover the pvc. then I would let corals use it as a footing to grab on to cover it. at least looking at the sand would be better than white pvc with purple writing. What do you think..

Re: sambrinar's 75 gals office sanity

Some one had mentioned that to me earlier. My PVC is on the outside of the tank running down to the sump... but it prolly would work. I will prolly just cover the back for now and when the coraline takes over on the back I will remove it..

I sound confident don't I!! hehe

Re: sambrinar's 75 gals office sanity

Oh I thought it was on the inside of the tank. Im interested to see if the sand theory would work thought. I wanna build a frag stand to raise them little frags to the light in my 55 and was thinking of trying the sand as camo over the pvc.
