Dude, you got 40 green chromis??? That must be the largest school I have ever seen regardless of tank size. With all your other fish combined, you ahve a huge bioload now. They do look great though.

I was going to have a large school of anthias the next time around, but given their cost and their constant need for attention and frequent feeding, I may end up going with the chromis. I'll out do you and get 50

BGCs are some of the best schooling fish you will find! very active and reef safe. Mine aren't the least bit aggressive and they are a scream to watch play "chase".

Joe:-) Hey my wife told me tonight she would give me some money to take some Diving lessons if I lose certain weight by the end of April.( I might need some help finding a place if I lose the weight)

And here is my ASM G4 rated for 450 gallons hard at work after it was cleaned 3 days ago. I took this picture 30 minutes ago.

Luis:

That is a lot of fish! Glad to see you are removing some of the larger ones becasue I can guarantee you 3 months down the road you would have been unhappy.

2 Blood Red Fire Shrimp
2 Mated Gold Banded Coral Shrimp(Female with eggs)
2 Scarlett Skunk Cleaner Shrimp(female with eggs)
1 White Spot Anemone Shrimp.
2 Pepermint Shrimp

As far as you shrimps. Do you realize that from the list above you are likely to only have 2 by 6 months? Those are the coral banded ones. They are not only opportunistic feeders, but they are extremely aggressive to other shrimps. You might get lucky and they won't bother the others, but for a lot of people theytunr very aggressive to the other shrimps and kill them once they get very stablished and start maturing as a mated pair. I hope that is not the case for you.

Corals look gorgeous!!!!!!!
You certainly have lots of starfish. You ahve twice as many as I know people that have even one

Alberto thanx for the heads up with the Shrimp. I hope that will not be the case, but if it happens(not much I can do now)I hope 180 gallons is enough for all of them to get along.

I have had the 2 pepermints for a long long time.

The fire Shrimp and the Cleaners are pretty large. Lets hope they at least put up a good fight:-)

Luis, that's awesome about the diving lessons! I always heard that chromis lose the blue color as they get older - have you heard that?
The G4 pic was super!

What are your tangs and angel picking on? Hopefully not clams!!!
My tangs were pecking at a pagoda (turbinaria), that I finally moved out of the big tank, but otherwise they've been good.

My BGCs have not lost their color. I've had them almost two years and they have grown quite a bit. I've seen 5" specimens at the LFS that have good coloration but are more on the green side. The blue is latent and intensifies in the light intermittantly as the fish move in the water column.

tg I guess I never owned or seen an old Green Blue Chromis. I never seen them fading in color. The tangs are picking on various corals and the Sailfin is the terror of the reef. I dont see much Algea, so maybe this is why. I feed them plenty, if you dont believe me just look at the Skimmer:-)

Craig thanx for interacting.:-)Appreciate your comments.

I had never heard of the fading color either. I have some that are 1.5 years and they have the same color. A buddy of mine has 6 large ones in his tank and he has had them for over 6 years. They look the same color as mine do.

Coloration is dependent on diet and health, good colors mean good animal husbandry! Congrats Alberto!
