Cheeks,
Ive actually kept many angels together ina tank before. The trick is to introduce them slowly, vary the sizes (generally starting small and making sure the new ones are larger than the established ones...which is why this guy on RC surprised me by starting large and moving smaller.....its just wrong! )
And finally adding different species w/ different body types also helps w/ cutting down aggression. Alot like adding tangs...

How big was the tank when you added the angels ?? I know I tried in a 42gal and it was disastrous although that was before I knew enough about them. It is definitely possible but you have to have alot of hiding places and a medium to large sized tank. The problem is them developing too large a territory and becoming overly aggressive and they bully the new addition to death

I absolutely agree that by doing those things you increase your chances for success especially starting small and when you add more of them make sure they are larger

Actually I had a blue ring (Annularis angel small adult 5 inches) an emperor angel (juv) a Narvarchus/Majestic adult (small also...these will morph into adult coloration very small, this one was about 3 1/2 inches) a Hawaiian flame, and an african flameback angel all in a 45 gallon tank. I didnt see any squabbles for territory.
Please understand that at the time I was living in Hawaii, and was making 10 gallon water changes on a twice weekly basis, and was also 15 at the time. I would NOT do this again as I feel thats too many fish that will get too large for that size tank. I never did have any fatalities though.

wow !! that's amazing that you were able to do that because Angels are very territorial by nature. Well I don't think Playa is gonna run into any territory problems with a 180 his fish look incredible and they have a beautiful playpen. The Sohal tang is the only one that would concern me especially with other tangs.

It sure it is cool to see you all interacting in a really cool issue, cause there are many of us that are ANGEL lovers but have been hesitant to introduced them to a full blown reef tank.

Good to know about the Swallowtail cheeks. Mine was eating since day one and it is trully a pig(he eats everything on the menu and it happens to love seaweed) Cheeks I used to have a Sohal, and he was indeed the boss of that reef. So far this guy is a model citizen, getting alone with the Mimic, Redsea Sailfin and the Blond Naso. He covers the entire tank and pretty much has a good handle of the reef already. The Sohal is so so sooooooo frigging beautiful, I agree Cheeks.

Thanx Brucey, I will wait a little while before I bring in my last Angel(Watanabe).

Thanx Curt.

Strat I know it totally sickening! People on crack have it a lot easier than I.

I could not resist this rock anemone today.
