| Manta Ray | Re: A 55 Gallon is Born!! yea its pine and the other is spruce and this was cheaper. we consulted with a homedepot guy and he said that pine used to be used to build houses and they're about the same strength. he said that pine was stronger but harder to nail into, but since i'm using screws thats not a problem. going to do some more work today, maybe finish

| Reef Lobster | Re: A 55 Gallon is Born!! Killer deal! That Korelia alone is worth like $30 bucks at my LFS. Gratz to you're good buy! As for the stand.. Im gonna join the masses when I say a 55 just isn't going to be enough. It's been a great starter tank but as you know from my thread a pain in the arse as well! You're going to do great with it tho, Im sure. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: A 55 Gallon is Born!! Sounds like you are off to a good start. Great score on the power head and heater etc. Since the tank will be FOWLR for a while that will make it easier to scape and I love 29g for sumps or fuges. I have one for each. That would add a lot of water volume and a lot of stability to your system.
