Basile, just caught back up on your thread. The rock formation is looking good! I was thinking about the foam and thought you may be able to take a razor and cut it a bit. You may be able to shape it more the way you want. Good Luck and keep us updated!

Awesome new pics. You are adjusting to the new cam quickly.
As always the rockwork is looking quite interresting. I am very anxious to see the final product.
What does Basile think of it at this point?

Well even if it didn't turn the exactly the way i though it would be; i'm satisfied with the present results, and the incoming looks of it. Today however is bad, i lost about 50 % of my rock, trying to peg them. The rock are ... it like frozen horse manure! Its brittle, breaks when i drill it; correct me if i'm wrong but rocks are not suppose to break like that. I even broke one by hand. That Marco guy sent me garbage rock and i'm gona tell him so. I'm no expect on live rock or coral rock, but rock is rock right? Or is it suppose to be so fragile. Do you concour about this ? what do you think? About the pics tanks, i'm still on the verdict about the camera. I got 14 days to evaluate, and return. it does take good pics but i wish i could take better ones lol. Really complaining today am'i lol. I'm a bad bad customer lol. Anyway i'll update with picture if i can do enough pegging today, no garanties though.I got softies all around me.

Re: OK a 65 G Slowly but the best i can make it

Well, I have some old coral skeletons that break pretty easily but I wouldn't think man made rock would be that much of a problem Marco rocks does have a good rep so maybe they changed their formula to make the rocks lighter or something. I would call and ask. Perhaps they will send replacements or something. See what they say.

BTW KC (one of my Basile distant relatives) apparently wants to say hi. She keeps rubbing against the keyboard and typing the wrong things.

Re: OK a 65 G Slowly but the best i can make it

I'm all excited , i've done the big work on the second structure, and its looking good so far. Sorry no pics for now ; i'll post when the hole thing is mostly finish so you can make head and tales of it. Because i've changes lots of things on it and it takes time to do it all. I've used all kinds of techniques on it. Zip ties, silicone, and foam as a binder not only as filler. i can't put it up yet its too " wet " if you like. I still got the grid to cut to shape the hole thing. I still have to do the pit, because without it i don't think the third arm will hold. It could still tip the entire structure if i go too fast. So keep your fingers cross hihi, and keep in touch.

OUFFFS my eyes are watering!!! I'm taking notice, that when foam is curing , it releases a subtile odor and vapor. You must have good airflow, to allow this process to accur safely. My throat is sore as well. So take care of that. It smell like those strong glue we use to use in art class. The smell is not noticable at first but as it goes it overwhelmed you.

A new day as come

Ok well today i started my day with my usual good morning from basile. I don't know; my noze must taste good lol

He also does that in my ears to wake me up in the morning; he knows my weakness

Ok i was floating new direction and new ideals to augment my rock volume in the tank without compromising the water flow under the rockwork; and i came up with this

I call it the pit. basically what it is , is a large enough area where i'll position biggers rocks around to create a small pit where i can dump rubble to help create more room for bacteria, but also a pods nursery.

Re: OK a 65 G Slowly but the best i can make it

This morning i was talking about the bad batch of rock i got from Marco's rock. There is some of the results of drilling some.

They shatter and become unusable for pegging at all, got a hole pale of nothing but dust and rubble, 50 % of the rocks i drilled.

Re: OK a 65 G Slowly but the best i can make it

Sometimes i used the silicone for specifics

This is the left arm of the structure. Its heavy ; more than i expected, hope it don't tip the hole thing over.

You can see here the holes i made for holding some rocks , but also for the water flow from the return water pump. Its flat on the back since its going to be againts the back wall. i don't want to scratch anything so more foam please.

Here , i pluged the end of the pvc with foam, you can see it came out of one of the water evacuation hole, oups too much.

Those are the main 2 branches, that will go againts the back wall, with a space for free water flow behind it.

What his he doing there, how vain he is; whatching the slides i put on this morning....
