Hey whats up. Well after some rushing and a small semi crash I am back on the right track I think. I added some more live rock and noticed that I had something growing on my LR what it is I am not for sure, think they are some sort of mushrooms.

Red just glanced through your thread and the question on my mind is your ammo test good? I would buy a new one (salifert) and test again. I see a few high ammos but not a corresponding nitrite rise?

That is correct. After my initial cycle back in October my nitrites and nitrates have been good. The ONLY thing out of wack was the ammonia. I have new tests and The ammonia is around 0 to .25 which is not to bad for a young tank. I removed the macro algae from my some, it was bad and dieing, and the ammonia dropped like a rock. I still do not want to rush the tank. I will make certian that my levels are stable before I do anything else. Shaun

Well last night and this morning my ammonia tested at 0. I am not so optemestic anymore so I have sent a sample with my wife and sister in law to have the LFS test it as well. If the water comes back the same as what I am getting then I will do a water change and wait. I am in no hurry so I can do the waiting thing. I am not going to mak the same mistakes again, I may get yelled at if I do, lol, so the majority of what I will do is nothing. I am suposed to be getting more live rock next week so i expect that it may try to start a cycle in my tank again. I am at the point that if it takes me a year to get it truly ready to add live stock to then I will wait a year. I WILL do this right and will have a tank to be proud of in the end.
If anyone wants an example of what happens when you rush, well here I am, LOL. I will be getting some new pics up soon and will keep you posted, Shaun

Red Dog I have bought cured rock from a source online with very good luck at a reasonable price. If yu wish to know who PM me don't think I'm suppose to state it here

Thank you. I have found another reefer that has a TON of extra rock. He decided to sell his 220 and go with a 125. But he setup the 125 and kept the 220 going until the 125 was ready so now he has almost 300 lbs to get rid of and he offered me 40 lbs for $20. Cant turn that down. Says he has several others wanting a bunch but whatever he has left at the end of the week I am welcome to. So I think I have my rack taken care of. Thank You for the offer though. Shaun

wow great deal! since its cured i don't think it will start a cycle. sounds you will might be close. i would wait 3 more weeks of stable parems before you add anything

At least. I am being very cautious right now. I almost wiped out the tank by getting in a rush so it I take a little extra time so be it, rather be safe than sorry.

have you got that rock yet? you might experience a small spike if any when you add it. are you going to qt your fish?

Have not got the rock yet. I want to qt any fish that i may put in but unless i use little johns 6 I do not have any way to do that right now. I will get a qt up and running just not able to right now, Shaun
