Re: 8 gallon biocube

i have the same problem with mine being cloudy as soon as you touch something in the tank. kind of annoying. My guess is that he just filled it up not long before he took the photo. it took about 5 hours for my BC 29 to clear up when i filled it and the every time i touch a rock or move sand it clouds up a bit then clears in about 2 hours.

did your buddy have anything in the tank prior to you buying it?

How much rock do you have in there? and won't the "new forced cycle" from the deli shrimp you put in there kill the snail on the glass?

GL on the CUbe!!

Re: 8 gallon biocube

why would you add a shrimp to start the cycle, when its cycled to 2 months.. and you have inverts in the tank?

Re: 8 gallon biocube

i took the snails out right away. he lost a clownfish due to bad lfs advice and is now spending all his money on his bronco. so for $60 i took the little tank off his hands. i added the shrimp to have a strong cycle just to be on the safe side. here are todays parems. ph 7.8 nitrate 10 ammonia 8 nitrite 5. i plan on stocking it with a purple firefish and fire shrimp

Re: 8 gallon biocube

also got some chemicals and a mag float with it. just noticed that one of the moonlights is out. this seems odd since the tank is only 2-3 months old. is there any way that i can fix it or will i have to buy a new one?

Re: 8 gallon biocube

With my 8 gal bio, the moon lights are too bright and I am hoping one burns out.

Re: 8 gallon biocube

okay so i guess i don't want to fix it. its in my brothers room so i don't want to hear him complain about. you could just take off the hood take off the splash guard (i think you can) put a piece of duck tape on one moonlight put splash guard back on put hood back on tank
