SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

I have had my tank since June of 07' and I have been a member here for a while so I thought I would start a thread for my red sea max. I got it at IMAC for cheap and the rest is history.

Here is a current pic:

I need to move the gorgs over to the seahorse tank.
And here is a timeline.
Day one:

Cycling

And in that pic you can see the caulerpa starting to grow...It took over and I didn't take any pics. I scrubbed it and here it was last dec.

And then I got my T5's

I didn't get the roots when I scrubbed the rock and the caulerpa came back so I switched it with rocks from my various other tanks.Today:

Beautiful tank! I always find the progression pictures of the tank history very interesting. My RSM has been through a lot of changes too. You've done a great job!

Re: SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

These tanks are always a work in progress! I'm never quite happy with mine and always moving stuff around and getting new things. For me that's part of the fun of owning a reef tank.

Re: SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

I re-aquascaped and moved my gorgs and the dendros to the SH tank. I will post pics tomorrow if everything looks good.

I got a green birdsnest and a turquoise colored sps today from work. I have to start writing these names down.

Re: SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

UPDATE:
Well, Deb (olivert00) came today and picked up my yellow coris wrasse. He was getting too big and I wanted to change it it a bit. I am going to focus more on corals for now, unless I can find a healthy bluespot for around $100.

Here are some pics, I need to do some cleaning.

Possible new avatar...

Re: SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

Very nice Blake. I like seeing pictures showing the progression of a tank. I recently upgraded to T5s. Just about everything in may tank has shown increased growth. I am very happy with the upgraded lights. Looks like your tank likes them too.

Re: SeahorseBT's 34 gallon Mixed Reef chronicle

yeah, the growth is great. Look at the ricordeas before and after T5's. You will have to stop by sometime and see the tank in person. I can frag some frogspawn for you....
