Re: New Horizons

Big time. I see greater polyp extention everyday and the corals are getting that lighter color I was hoping for. Also the over all reef looks cleaner. I am having some algae growth on the glass that is bothering me though. It's going to take some time for this to become fully zeo.

Re: New Horizons

edit your post Paul. I am not clear on what your saying fully. Yes I will be tapping in with a new saddle valve at the water heater out in the garage.

Re: New Horizons

Thanks for stopping in Slysock It is just over 14" now.
I finished the water changing system and I have pictures as promised.
First I located a place to tap into for the water. I taped into the cold water line on the water heater out in the garage.

Always have a buddy nearby is my first rule:

So from that line I ran it into my 4 stage RO/DI system and then into the top side of the fresh water drum with a float valve inside:

In the rear of that drum I taped another line in and down to my return sump with a float valve in there. I have a ball valve on that line also because I don't trust auto top off. I rigged it up for it anyhow and I'll see how it go's.

Next is the bottom drum for water changes. I have a bulkhead in the bottom of the top drum with a ball valve to dump the RO water into the salt drum.

Everything is bolted down snug
From there all I need to do it open up another ball valve on the bottom of that drum to replace seawater when doing my weekly change out.

Her is the complete system:

And the full Monti of my filtration. Lot of stuff for a 120!

Re: New Horizons

Hey Frankie, you need to change your DI resin, looks all yellow/brown LOL

Glad to hear you have success with ZEO, I've seen a few up close & what has changed them & the results are all very positive! I'll have to back track a few pages when I get time but so far it is looking great, maybe post pics of your corals before you started & on a progression as you get more & more into it, so we can all see how it has worked out for you!
