Re: New Horizons

Thanks Mike It's coming along well.
Nope, I have done very little bamboo flooring down here. It was getting big in NY before I left though. The most common wood used here is rain forest woods believe it or not. Domestic woods are more green though. We have grow farms here so for every oak cut I think two are replaced. Most oak you buy in places like HD or Loews is grown with steroids anyhow these days. Rarely will you see old growth oak.

Re: New Horizons

Thanks Snelly and Bax. He is a great fish to have. When I got him he had some serious damage from urine burns due to shipping. It took about a month to get him back to normal. He is a model ruler of the roost now. All 4 tangs get along well, though the sail fin is getting nipped by someone I have yet to catch in the act. I have a feeling it is the clowns. They don't like other fish coming to close to the T. Gigas and the sailfin is always trying to eat the algae off of it.

Re: New Horizons

Thanks Vicki I feed Nori, mysis and since being advised by Leebca and Fatman on nutrition I have been using Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes. The fish love it and it is loaded with goodies I also stepped my feeding up to once a day instead of once every other day. My skimmer is running wet since I changed out to zeovit so nutrient content is non existing in my system.

Re: New Horizons

I alooking forward to your WC set up. I'll be changing mine as soon as I get my frag tank set up.

I really like the Ocean Nutrician prepered foods, I use the Prime Reef flakes too and the Formula I & II pellets in various sizes as well. It is suposed to be high in "goodies" as you mentioned but I like it because it is a very clean prepered food.

Re: New Horizons

Im almost done building it Bax. It's coming out good. I just need to relocate the RO/DI unit and I will get some pictures. Tomorrow I am thinking. The waist line has me a bit puzzled as to what to do with it. I wish there was a way to loop it back into the water line. I am thinking I will have to plumb it to the outside.

Re: New Horizons

Hi Frankie. I think about your tanks more than I post about them. I just read every post of yours in this thread, and am glad I don't have to get up tomorrow morning. I am glad to see you actively changeling yourself in this hobby, and wonder how many ponds of brain you have.
How is your RO/DI plumbed in now?

Re: New Horizons

Thank for stopping in Paul
It is in the stand and needs to be removed and wired up in the garage. I'll post some pictures tomorrow after I am done.
