Blake's 46 Gallon Seahorse Tank Chronicle!

I got a great deal on a 46 gallon bow front, so I am picking up another seahorse tomorrow, and he will be housed in my 29 with my female until I get this bad boy up and running. I will be picking up the new tank this sunday and pics will follow then. I am so excited!!

Re: Blake's 46 Gallon Seahorse Tank Chronicle!

Well, they're here! I acclimated them and they are in my 29 gallon. I am keeping 2 and the other 2 will go to olivert00(Debby) for her RSM. I pick up the new tank tomorrow!

Here's the old one.

And the new ones!

How exciting. I have a 90 that is set up for seahorses but haven't hooked up the chiller yet so I don't have my babies.
How many are you going to keep in the 46? Are you going to keep anything with them?
Love the pics.

Re: Blake's 46 Gallon Seahorse Tank Chronicle!

I plan on keeping the 2 for right now and if I am sucessful in breeding them I will keep 2 babies. If my blue spot pulls through then she will move over there.I paln on doing all soft corals in this tank too.

Re: Blake's 46 Gallon Seahorse Tank Chronicle!

We are way to much alike. I have my blue in the tank I bought for seahorses. As soon as I replace the stand I am going to get a second blue and hook up the chiller. Then it is time for my ponies.
You should be fine with more than 2 in that size tank. My plan is for 4 pair and 2 blues in the 90.

Re: Blake's 46 Gallon Seahorse Tank Chronicle!

I have been wathcing your thread lynn. Are you sure we arent related? LOL. If I raise some fry, then I will have to give you a discount if you don't have any by then. The guy I got these from had them breeding so hopefully I will get some fry soon! How sweet would that be?!!!??
