Re: Akwar'eum Too

That is true. I need the extra calcium in my system. I am so pleased with the lack of cyano. I can't believe the cure is that easy! I also put carbon in a place that gets lots of flow (the overflow for the mangrove tank) and think that is helping as well. I read cyano feeds off of DOC's and I had stopped using carbon for a few months.

Just stopping by Greg .... Your experience, I can only confirm.
I've been using it for many years, alternating with Tropic Marine PRO.

Re: Akwar'eum Too

Thanks for stopping by my friends! I have new bulbs and after cleaning the tank I will take some pics to show you. My mornings mission is to clean the glass, and suck out some cyano (there isn't much) and do a water change. Let it settle, then take pics...

Re: Akwar'eum Too

Here are a few pics of the fish room and refugiums. Chris (Varga) cleaned his room and inspired me to do the same, although no where near as clean as his. Here it is...

the maintenance steps...

Water making station...

Seagrass tank...

close ups of algae...

WOW Greg what a tank, it is simply beautiful. I envy you the Tomini Tang, with a little luck, I get one for my FOWLR.

What are the new bulbs and what do you think of them?

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!
Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.

Hey, can I trouble you for new pics of your Mangroves and Algae Scrubber?
I am working on designing mine and can use all the info I can get.

Re: Akwar'eum Too

dayton- I'll get those for you, no problem

Al- I got 4 x TRU T5 actinic 03, and 2 x Hamilton Technology 250W 14,000K MH. The tank looks wonderful in real life, much better than the photos.

Heinz- Tommy is fabulous. He is lightening fast and I had to follow with the camera for a long time taking several shots to get that one. He never stops!

Jeremy- I have Syringodium filiforme (manatee grass) and Thalassia testudinum (turtle grass). I need to get some more. Most of what I bought has lived, and the manatee grass is actually spreading a bit. The turtle grass is tempermental though and is being slow.

Bren- I have your fish...his name is Pickles now,...sorry hon.
