| Tridacna maxima | Re: Akwar'eum Too Excellent Point!! I'm cutting a foot off of it. My lumber was delivered at 8 this morning. I'm at the store right now waiting for Jody to bring my glue...oh yeah, and framing materials. I'll go to the HW store and get another drill bit, mine seem to have legs! Then go home and construct stuff.

| Tridacna maxima | Re: Akwar'eum Too OK, more stuff. We got the tank shelf built... ![]() Here is Tim cutting wood. He and his wife Christy are our best friends. It's hot as blazes here today, we both looked like we were about to melt. Victor, I paid him with grilled steak, potatoes, steamed broccoli, sauteed sweet corn, and gin & tonic. I think he left satisfied... ![]() Here is Christy posing like she did something... ![]() I hope I can get the sump out if needed... ![]() Construction shots...I think it's here to stay! ![]() ![]() I have a confession to make.... I stink at gluing acrylic together! My seams look like poop. but as long as it holds water, I guess that's the main thing. Here is the skimmer box, I leak tested and had one small repair to do, it's drying now... ![]() Collection cup... ![]() I've got other stuff glued together but will get shots of them when they are more dry. That's it for today. I'm exhausted but it's been a great day!

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: Akwar'eum Too A freaking hot day and you repay your friends with Hot steak, Hot potatoes, Steaming brocoli, Sauteed corn? That gin & tonic better have been served at 20 degrees Farenheit. lol Where's the ice cold shrimp ceviche, a nice fresh garden salad with crisp iceberg lettuce, maybe a nice jello mold fresh from the fridge? The seams look fine on the acrylic. Just don't use the macro lense and you'll be fine.

| Tridacna maxima | Re: Akwar'eum Too Tim IS a meat and potato man, smothered in ketchup! Nasty! He's a great guy and friend. He doesn't do shrimp, or girly foods at all Victor...sorry. I tell you, he was content when he left OK, now for the unveiling of the skimmer. The box leak-tested successfully, and I've finished glueing the rest, and have the gaskets in place. My thumbs are raw from all the thumb screw! For scale, I had Gail take my photo with the skimmer,..ya know...just for scale purposes... uh huh. OK, are you ready... no closeups of the seams please... al right, here we go... here it comes.... ta daaaaaaah! ![]() For my next trick I will give it a test run to see if it actually works! Thanks for your patience, it took forever to build but turned out....adequate , that is as long as it works!
