Sweet deal, if you can get it.

Drive multiple heads with that one, I'm just wondering if it would be over kill.

You should check in with Frankie or Melev on it, they are more of a big pump guru than I am.

Re: Varga's 300 Gallon In-Wall Build!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got to the house and looked up the link to the site I have been checking for a Dolphin pump for the 90 gal. They have the 5100s listed with a bit more info.

Dolphin 5100S AMP Master S-Series Pump - SeaQuestMarine.com

After looking over the graph a bit more closely, it may not be a good choice due to the low head pressure rating of that pump. 2400gph at 6ft. kinda stinks for a 300 gallon tank. As I have been looking over pumps for the 90, I am aiming to have enough head pressure to use mutiple, adjustable return heads for tank circulation and eliminate all powerheads from the tank. I am aiming to have one pump do everything that needs to be done.

Re: Varga's 300 Gallon In-Wall Build!!!!!!!!!!!!

i not sure if i would buy the pump just because i want a warranty(90 days isnt much) on something thats is so critical to the system. but then again if this is just a closed loop pump & you have a seperate return pump then its worth it.

but if the pump is only 2400gph, you would need 2 of them, since you want to have your turn over rate between 15-20 times per hour. so 300g x 15x = 4500gph minimum.

Re: Varga's 300 Gallon In-Wall Build!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to bad. This hobby is not cheap
You also need to consider what you can do with one pump. If the manifold is built right it can be used for many things.
