Looks nice! I like the color of the MH's. Are you planing on a chiller for this tank?

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

No chiller in the plans right now Frankie. It has this massive fan on it and the hood has a fan inside of it as well. Still debating on wheather or not to put the canopy on. I know it traps heat and also speeds up evap. But I want to get a wrasse and I'm told they tend to be "jumpers" so we'll see. Also have the AC running non-stop in my apt during the summer so I really don't think heat will be an issue. Once I get the test water in there I"ll drop a thermometer in and test the water as far as heat goes.

Elliott good to you man. Thanks for the compliments.

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

Some more updates. Although no pictures

I was cleaning the tank today with windex (yes I know that's bad but only if there's going to be critters in there anytime soon.....and there's not so it will air out.) I noticed a tiny little crack that I thought had been a hair. UGH well luckily I had some silicone on hand and buttered that baby up...BTW if you've never used silicone (like me) it's very hard to get off your hands...I recommend using soap and water then drying then using some rubbing alcahol to get that "sticky" feeling gone.

I'm going to let it just sit there probably under the lights for a couple of days so it dries quicker...

I also noticed a small crack in between the glass...I have no way of getting to it what are your thoughts on this.

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

relax stace...I def. wasn't done by me but no worries. There are two cracks...one was a surface crack (meaning that it was on the inside of the tank but didn't breach the bottom. I put silicone on that and am just letting it cure. The second one is neither on the top of the glass nor on the bottom. It just seems to be between the glass...almost like a bubble of sorts. I don't anticipate any problems from that one so I'm leaving it alone. When I do my leak test I'll find out if it's going to be an issue. Again thank you guys SOOOO much for that tank. It really is my dream tank and I will always cherish it. You guys are awesome.

Fubared! Haven't heard that in a long time!

Mucci, sorry about the crack, was there any water leaking out of it? Like the lights!

Cracks will spread over time mucc. Sorry to be the one to have to tell you that. Can you post some pictures for me to see? Are you sure they weren't scratches?

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

here ya go frankie...I think the more and more I look at it it just must be a crack but you've had tanks longer than I have. I put a red line though it so you can see it better. The one with silicone looks to be OK for now.

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

Pic is a bit blurry and this old gal's eyes it could go either way. Can you feel it on both sides of the tank?

Re: Tony's Amazing 39 Gallon Experience

OK guys..after taking that pic and getting shared ****ttakieless from frank I took another look at the crack of doom. You can feel it from the top but not the bottom...this is good news in my mind. NO becky I didn't do it. To be honest as long as I can fix it I really don't care that much. I slapped a ton of silicone on their and will let it cure for a week or so. The other spot I put silicon on is doing well...still a bit sticky and not that clear plastic elasticity yet but it curing nicely...right now have the MH lights on to bake it...along with the windows open.

So stace and Becky and to teh rest of the crew...no worries...it's being taken care of. I have leared a litttle bit on this forum and know what to do when this happeneds..honesly I learned from terrys 450 leak. Next wed I'll probably do a small leak test (ie 3 gallons.)
