Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Oh my gosh - I even let him look at 2 different colors.....lol.....you see he really just dosen't care - it might shock him if I were to switch the neutral med. tan to say a bright shockingly PINK!!

After looking at things - "we" decided to go with a medium tan which matches the tile perfectly and the good news is that the new color should cover the old orange color in one coat!!!!

I am sure pics to follow tonight! I am gonna try to get the room painted today while everyone is GONE!

I DO care. But can you REALLY know what the color is until a whole wall is painted? I can't really visualize it just by looking at those little color strips.

Terry I think you're wise to "Not really care". Paint color is a VERY dangerous business for a marriage

Patti, it sounds like a good choice. Terry, you are obviously a voting member of Man World.

And, Allen, exactly what is THAT supposed to mean?! LOL

When we ( I ) were (was) making color choices for the new house, John said very vague things when I asked his opinion. Hmm, wonder why? I admit that I ditched several colors I'd chosen once I saw them on the wall, but my painter (Man World member) was a gem and very patiently and gently guided me several times to good color choices.

Patti, can't wait to see the color on the wall! It's so easy to work on those things when one is alone, eh?

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Well one wall is done - I am waiting for it to dry before I continue - as it will darken when dry. Right now I think it's too light but just not sure how too light it is.

I know that Terry DOES care - it's just one of the male/female difference type things I suppose - is that what you were alluding to Al????

I think it will be just great!! Pics to follow later on!

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

LOL, what he is alluding to is, if the color looks bad on the wall, The famous "I told you so" or "If I had picked the color" will promptly be pulled into the discussion and yet another "Man World" member will have fallen.

PS: I hope you know I am just joking, kind of,lol.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!

She painted a wall. She (and we) didn't care for it. It didn't look anything like that little sampler strip. She is at Lowes now getting a different color.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!

(here is a little tip for picking paint colors. open up paint or some other photo editing software. make a big square. make it a color you like. print if off. hold it up to a wall that you want to pain. it gives you a much bigger picture and much better idea of what it will look like and it's in the room with everything else in the room so you can see how well it fits)

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Paint is inexpensive & easy to change if the color isn't right. However! getting the color "just right" can get costly & never achieved. Consider a new color may not look right just because one isn't used to it!

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Scott (Dentoid) came over to help today. Lucky me! Poor Scott.

We ripped out this half wall that was in the way and angled into the room and also had a LARGE box around one of the house post braces. I just mopped the floor and painted with latex primer. Now I get to lay down some more tile. Scott helped us to figure out where the 450 and it's stand will go so I'm moving forward again.

Of course, I'm really kind of at a stand still until the replacement center brace comes in. And the lights so I can get the hanging brackets installed. Then I need to find 10 big, strong guys to come over to help lift the tank onto the stand. I know Victor said he'd be MORE than happy to fly out here that weekend. I think he even said he is as strong as TWO big strong guys...
