Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

I think I'd stay with a neutral sort of color that won't compete with the colors in the tank. Think about what sort of undertone it has, too, because that can affect the way colors will look inside the tank. Maybe a warmer tan/brownish undertone rather than a colder gray undertone?

Or, good ole black on the wall behind the tank so the tank will "pop", and the rest of the room in a neutral shade?

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

My tank is in our lliving room and the room is a shade of Brown. The tank really stands out with a black background but then again my stand and canopy are black and stainless. The brown is darker than in the pic, the flash from the camera makes it look lighter.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

hmmm. I got "applecrisp" in the dinign room. SORT of neutral, think cream or really light tan, add a little pink and a little peach. It has color but fades into the background. I tend to go "earth" tones on walls, its warmer and you can go way neutral or darker or it can the the neutral tone with a mix of several shades.

Tank is black and it and the stuff in it stands out pretty well. Didn't intend a tank when I painted but it worked out well! I should add the color is not girly at all.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Patti will be home in a couple hours and, seriously, I'm leaving that up to her. I'm not color blind but I'm color blind when it comes to matching things up, color wise. If you know what I mean...

Well, I just put 150 lbs of the Tonga Nuku Fusion from PEA (pacific east aquaculture) into our 55g for curing. I asked for big pieces and I got BIG pieces. I LOVE IT!!! It's going to be SO easy to make shelves in the rock structure.

This rock has some very nice caves and crevices. It has nice color to it already too. For the price, I think it's one heck of a great deal!

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Scott, I got more exciting things to play with on Saturday.

ELECTRICITY!!!

It's shockingly fun!

Nah, just kidding. There is so much that still needs to be done. Need to tear out a small wall. Maybe move one of the houses support posts (put one up about 10" away, then take the existing one down), put up a new corner wall, build a canopy (need to wait for the lights first though), decide on where the 450's final place will be and how the 360 will sit in relation to the 450, move the 450's stand to that location, figure out the plumbing for the 450's return and drain, and the closed loop, figure out the wiring runs for the lights, run new circuits for the pumps and lights, rip out the rest of the carpet and finish tiling the room...

Oh yeah, tons of things to be done yet. And I haven't heard anything about the replacement center brace glass yet. But they said it would be 3-4 weeks and it's only been about 2 now.

How many days/weeks are you coming for???

This will be mostly automatic and continual. Every hour it will change about 2 gallons.
