| Midas Blenny | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade Be patient guys - pics are on the way!!!! LOL I tried to go swimming earlier and the water is just a little bit too cold for me! I prefer bathtub warm water! My toes went numb for a little while but now the feeling is coming back - I think my dear hubby needs to get a heater of sorts for that thing - oh and it would make the perfect "massage tank" when the CL is running - very cool!!! ( Only if he makes the water warmer for me! )

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade OK! ![]() Did you all know that the Cannon Rebel XTI doesn't do video??? ![]() Anyway, we got some still pics. Here is the plumbing of the CL pump: ![]() The piping in the back, all connected up: ![]() CL running - Front: ![]() Side view: ![]() I had to pull the CL pump out, take the housing apart and fix the gasket. It wasn't seated correctly so it was leaking between the housing pieces. We also found one 3/4" pipe in the back that was missing purple. I glued that piece in and it's all good now. Of course, the pressure will be higher when the head pressure is removed for the pump. In other words, when the tank is full, there won't be any head pressure and the pump will just be moving the water so the volume will be higher than this. I also haven't installed the locline nozzles yet because I wanted to get an idea of the flow. I'm thinking that a single nozzle on each hole should be enough. I also figure that if I find that it's not enough flow, I'll get another hammerhead and plumb it inline with the existing hammerhead and double the flow but I really don't think I'll need it. I'm not planning on SPS. Right now, the tank only has around 80g in it. I figure over the weekend I should be able to add another 160-200. I think I might go ahead and move the cycling rock from the 55g tank into the 450 before I add anymore water. I'll use those rocks to sit on the bottom and the structure will be built on top of those. These rocks are really big pieces so they'll work perfect for that. Then I can go ahead and dump the sand in too. Ok, so I won't get to relax TOO much this weekend... ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade YAY!!! It looks awesome! I'm glad the non-purpled pvc didn't end up disasterous. What size pumps are you running for your CL and sump?

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade The CL pump is a Sequence Hammerhead. Thats around 5,800 gph coming out of the holes. The sump pump is a Sequence Barracuda and I'll have it throttled back to about 3,300 gph. That isn't hooked up yet because it's currently pumping the water upstairs to my 120g reef. Moving day, I'll cut the pipe and switch it over to this tank.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade Thanks! We want to either build another one just like it or have one built, and put a big predator tank on it. Judging by the prices we are getting for having it built, I may end up having a very busy summer and getting really good with a router. ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: Terry's 450g upgrade lol! The cabinetry we got with our tanks is really plain. I'm going to end up stripping it, adding some more attractive moulding than quarter rounds and re-staining it. If you want Tommy's plans for the skeleton he built for our tank, I'm sure he wouldn't mind...it's pretty darn sturdy ![]()
