Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

That bike lift is nifty. Is it big enough to lift the the solaris?

And HOLY COW!!! A 72 inch Solaris??? Yeah, second mortgage time.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Sarah, I'm not settling for anything for this tank. I really want white so I'm still looking. I contacted an EBay seller and I'm currently talking to her to see what kind of a deal she can work out.

Kathy, the bike lift is rated for 100 lbs. The solaris doesn't come anywhere close to that. The bike lift has two mounting brackets and they can be placed at any distance apart. I don't have the light yet but I'm pretty sure it will work out mahvalous...

2nd mortgage??? Oh man, we're up to FOUR now...

(just kidding, Al!)

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

just because I really don't know lights that well can anyone tell me if the stock 39 gallon signature series on the CAD is allot worse than a solaris...would love to upgrade at some point but Eddie over at CAD told me this light should be able to support almost anything I get.

*150w 14,000k with 2 x 24w Actinics supplements

Mucci, you will indeed be able to keep anything you want with that light. The entire tank is a GREAT SYSTEM! You really found an awesome product.

I mean, your system has a built in UV, chiller, awesome lights, excellent skimmer, I mean it has EVERYTHING! It's going to be a great tank.

Holy Cwap! I was just showing you the kind of sand I have. Surely we can find a better deal than that somewhere. But then again, it IS 600 pounds and someone has to lift it, but $250! They think a lot of their labor.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

And a little background on my light choice, my tank is 36" deep (top to bottom) and I would either have to use 400w MH's, which would generate a LOT of heat, or give the Solaris a try. The Solaris I4 generates the equivilant of 400w MH's without the heat and without the incredible amount of electric usage.

IMO, you don't need a Solaris. With the built in chiller, I don't think you'll have heat issues. And I don't think a Solaris would save you that much on your electric bill either.

Come on, that's a pallets worth. They would use a forklift to put it on a UPS truck. $240 for that???

I wonder if they would give me $240 for driving the forklift for all of about 3 minutes...

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Well, fork lift drivers DO make a lot per hour! Still, that's rediculous. I think for that size load it would be a trucking company with a lift gate truck wouldn't it? Does UPS have those?

It's a CADLIGHT system. You can read about it in this thread.

Mucci has a bunch of really awesome friends.

They do now. They can ship packages of just about any size now. But you're right, they would probably ship on DHL or someone like that.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!
