Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Jeez! Wow! OMG! Holy smoke! That thing is mindblowing. I had Gail come look at it so together we could have a goal to shoot for. She's like.. how big is his? 450...how big is yours?...390... she goes, hmmmmm. Now look what you've done! I feel inadequate...

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Greg..... ROFLMAO!!!!!

Thanks everyone. I got the other overflow box up and running now. The Barracuda is WIDE open now, getting around 3,300 gph through the sump now. I also took Scotts advice and raised the return nozzles just enough so they ruffle the surface. Man, the shimmer is now REALLY impressive!!!

When we get back this afternoon, I'll get Matt to make a video of the tank so you can see what I mean.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Very nicely done, Bittners! How nice of Scott to help you with the big move, although I'm sure he was excited to get his armpits wet!

I guess with such a huge system you don't need to wait to add stuff, huh? That whole dilution thing? Man. With my little dinky tank I'll be doing the waiting-in-between-for-6-or-8-weeks between adding my little 4 or 5 fish that I'll be able to have! I'm way jealous!

And video would be very awesome to see, so I'll be waiting for that!

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

Terry..thanks for the advice on the silicon...will leave it untouched. By the end of June I should have my tank up and running...a measley 39 gallons but once I get my own house I'm shooting for a wall tank.

Re: Terry's 450g upgrade

I guess I could take a whole bunch of successive pics and stitch them together into a video.

nah....

That sounds like work.

On a side note, it just occurred to me that I hooked in the last overflow box, cranked the valves all the way open from the sump pump, watched it for about five minutes, then went out to eat with my family. I haven't decided if that was brave or STUPID!

Fortunately, everything worked great, and it never occurred to me that I could come home to a flood, so I enjoyed eating out and thoroughly enjoyed the company.
