Re: The 180gal Family Project

Thanks everyone.

The reason the plumbing took so long is because of Olivia...she's not always as well behaved as we would like for her to be. But, she's 5 months old, what can you do?

WE HAVE WATER!!!!

So far, there are no leaks. The Hammerhead is wonderful and VERY quiet. The Mag 36 is SOOOOOO loud! But I have pictures!

(Can you tell I'm excited?!)

I have a couple of videos (our camera takes videos) but I forgot that I can't flip them once I've taken them. But, here they are anyway.

Thanks Varga and Mucci.

JoJo: That was just hose water. We're doing a leak/pressure test.

Re: The 180gal Family Project

VERY COOL! I love the Sequence pumps, very quiet, and VERY powerful. I've always been very disappointed with the mags because of the noise and the heat. Everyone else seems to love them though so I thought that maybe I just got a bad one. Doesn't matter though, I replaced it with a Sequence pump and everythings been golden since.

CONGRATS!!! Won't be long now!

Re: The 180gal Family Project

I am finally to the end of reading all 14 pages!! You are making wonderful progress!!! Very neat and clean, I hope ours will look as clean as yours! Livi is a doll, I love the pic where she has the fish on her shirt.

One question--the cat that's on this page..what are you feeding it?? It was just a tiny kitten what 2 months ago? Or I'm hoping that's another one, otherwise your going to have a lion by the time it's all grown up at the rate it's going lol.

Re: The 180gal Family Project

Thanks for looking everyone. Got up this morning and no leaks. Livi's gums were bothering her super bad last night and she woke up every hour on the hour like clockwork until I finally put her in the bed with us.

Terry: I love our Hammerhead. You can barely hear it and with all the twists and turns we've got in our plumbing, we've still got a LOT of flow.

Jack: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably pick one up today. We've got some rubber pads under there right now to cushon it against the glass but I really don't think it's doing much.

Stace: Thanks for hanging in there. Let's see if I can get the cat sequence...
First was Sweet Pea who's really not very sweet to anyone but me. She weighs about 2 pounds.

Then there was Bruce Wayne aka Shadow Bear. (He's got Batman symbols inside of circles on both sides of his body.) He weighs about 16 pounds and was from Sweet Pea's first litter and is about 5 years old. I'm using the following picture so you can really see how large he is.

Then there was Roman from Sweet Pea's 3rd litter. He was born the Friday after we brought Olivia home from the hospital so he's about 5 months old. I think he's shaping up to be like Shadow Bear. I think he weighs almost as much as his mamma. (These are 12" tiles he's laying on if that's any indication of how big he's getting.)

Re: The 180gal Family Project

Wow Nikki, they are all so beautiful!! Gosh Roman is getting big!! I will have to show you my moster of cats sometime, one of mine is pushing 20 lbs.

That's very neat they are all family.

Glad to hear there are no leaks!! I was actually looking into the hammerhead and I believe it was the barracuda? Maybe it was a different. But glad to hear the hammerhead is doing you well!!

Re: The 180gal Family Project

I think the barracuda is one step down, flow-wise, from the Hammerhead, but made by the same people. We got ours used from Dr. Hank and it's SO awesome! It's seriously quiet. I can't even hear it over our tv. The Mag36 is a different story. I watch the tv on 25 (volume) & you have to turn it up to almost 60 to hear it over the Mag.

Yeah, the cats being family is really cool. Tommy's got a cat too...I think she feels left out sometimes because she's very elusive. I'd love to see pictures of your cat!
