Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

OK, you guys have pounded me with a lot of knowledge here in the past couple of hours...

OK I know for certain that I want a coast to coast. With that being said, the maximum outside with I can have is 30". So, if I make the overflow 3.5" then the tank itself can be 26.5 wide.

Frankie supplied me with the link for the stands... I will have to read up on that in order to see what exactly I will need for my particular tank.

Oh, I have a question.... Since I am now going with a coast to coast... How many holes need to be drilled since the overflow is now the entire length of the tank?

Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

if it were mine, and the maximum outside I could do was 30''...then I would forget about the 26'' tank with external overflow and get the 30'' with an inside center overflow.

Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

I hear what your saying.... Sometimes to much info can be dangerous.... I have a little more soul searching to do. Well at least we accomplished one thing today... I know what size I want my tank to be.

Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

One last question before I retire for the night... Can a closed loop system be controlled electronically to mimic wave making capabilities the same way powerheads can be?

Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

Yup, just hook it into an Oceans Motions unit and it will alternate your current through multiple outlets.

Re: My 120g Acrylic Tank Chronicle

Yes. I would go with an Ocean Motion set up personally. You can also do the MBV like the one in the picture above. That thing in the middle of the CL.
