Re: MY 55g build

I hope the rics stay looking nice like that. That butterfly fish will most likely eat them, and any other coral you have in the tank.

Re: MY 55g build

I would love to have butterflies but I love my corals too. I think it might be the individual personality trait of the fish though. Butterflies probably carry the *reef safe warning* flag because more than likely, they will eat corals but it's not guaranteed that it will.

Love the CBB! Unfortunately, they do have the potential to become coral munchers where once they were not. Enjoy it for now! If/when it starts picking on your corals, trade it in for a newer model!

Just caught up on the journey. Tank is looking good.
The reason you had trouble with the mandarin is that your tank is too new. They eat only copepods which are little buggy things that start multiplying as your tank gets older.
The lawnmower kind of suprises me. It could have been cyanide caught. That is about the right timeframe and symptoms.

Re: MY 55g build

LC-keep in mind when i started my chronical the tank was about 6months old in the 55...and it all started before the chronical with a 10g that i had for 3-4months then went to a 20H for about 3 months then the 55 which was 6months from before the chronical was started...there were plenty of pods in the tank for the manderin thats for sure i would see him picking on the rocks and you'd see the glass on the DT full of them and in the fuge they were everywhere i even pulled some out of the fuge and put it into the DT
oh and Dent the BTA arrived today i had it sent to work i ran home floated it and then started the drip went back to work and then i went home and placed it in the tank and it attached instantly to the rock and within 5 minutes it was fully secured to the rock.
