Re: MY 55g build

ok and once again since i grew up with the more power i had a 18w PC fixture that the fixture was busted so what did i do...oh well retro fitted it into my canopy giving me now finnaly a total of 224w worth of lighting in my tank and of course the old 36" bulb blew today as well during testing so i had to run out and get a new bulb but i think it was about time
heres a pic of what i did as you can see i've run out of room....the only thing i may eventually do down the line is replace the two 55w with 2 65w until i break down and buy a t-5 fixture you can see its two small PC lights next to the 36"

Re: MY 55g build

yeah it def. makes a ghuge difference i had to change out the enw 36" bulb as it broke while i was gone luckily the guy at my lfs gave me a better bulb for over 50% off because of what happened his thought is maybe the ballast is going bad because it snaped where the supports are and the rest of the bulb wasn't cracked he's not too sure though so hopefully this new bulb won't pop and it was just a bad bulb itsa cloudy day in the reef as its missing 96w worth of lighting i've also changed the little 18w fixture to be the first light on and off im debating on having one of the 55w on the opposite side also go on with the 18w fixture i hate to shock all of the corals with just a massive amount of light in the past i have had the 96w come on first and off last but i think that still might be to much of a shock for my personal liking...trying to get close to having dawn and dusk lightning with only two timers
