ok wow thats what i get for playing around with the lightning that just looks ugly but don't get me wrong im in a good need of scraping..gf is at work tmr night and the new toy will of had a full day to start working.....new toy??? what new toy you ask oh yeah its just this small lil 8w UV steralizer

lets play the fire hazard game to hahaha don't worry all my strips are hanging up so its not like water could easily fall on them unless the tank cracks from the bottem..knock on wood

can you get a wider shot, i'd like to see how you have it hanging on. i've heard its not needed run 24/7 but it comes in handy often

yeah i dunno im running it 24/7 until my water fully clears up 24 hours after its on i can actually look from one end to the other and bearly see through the otherside of the tank!!!!!

ok heres the updated pic the first one is the return back into the fuge...in my sump i have 3 spots as im sure you all know who followed this thread the first part is where all the tank water goes in and the skimmer/filter media and now the UV all pulls its water from...then the middle part is the fuge where you can see the return from the carbon and the uv water goes back in

then heres a good shot of the whole setup u can see its a series of two elbows which hold the uv onto the back of the tank thank god it hung on there cuz i would hate to have to add another thing to the back of the tank besides if its hidden down there the gf won't notice it for a while...im thinking after a week im going to add the UV to the timer on my lights so it works when the lights are on...not sure if thats the best thing but i'll take options

ok so finnally i have internet at home i hate moving...this was a very eventfull move i started at 7:30am taking off all of the accessories and what have you so all was left in the apartment was my tank stand fuge 3 big trash cans one full of RO water......so everythings going fine we get all the corals and atleast 90% of the water out of the tank n fuge...and we left the sand in the tank...so its gettin to be around i'd say 1pm by the time we start to take the tank downstairs im walk...and im like god im slipn' my hand is real wet...assuming that sure its just spashing water and what have you...but i knew better then to assume anything so i wipe my hand off stand in the hallway for another minute and my hand is super wet again...come to find out my tank was cracked at the base by where it sits on the stand...FYI if a tank is not designed to be on a certain stand don't have it there...i think that was my problem

sooooo i had to go out to the LFS and get a new tank after spending god knows how many hours scraping the hell out of my tank to get all of that algae off the back wall and front walls...if anyone follows this thread you know exactly how bad my algae was.....needless to say pockets empty and a new clean tank in hand we go home to start doing it...now i've always wished i had that crystal clear water(part of problem starting a SW tank with tap water) and now it is beautiful never seen the water so blue from the attenic's and the tank just looks absolutely amazing.....i'll be putting up some new pics here soon just thought i'd keep everyone on an update since its been a while and i was real pissed about having to buy a new tank let alone scraping the old tank completely for hours and then having to go buy a new tank!~!!!!!!

Man, I'm sorry to hear about the cracked tank!!!

But it sounds like it turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

heres the wall that its on...we(in reality I, but for her sake we) painted the walls in the apartment i actually like the color behind the tank
