Is it free swimming or crawling on the glass? It's pretty, what ever it is.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

My fire shrimp molted. by looking at the shell it doesnt look like he had any trouble.

Oh yeah... this afternoon i found out that a good friend of mine one i see pretty often was a closet reefer.... I never guessed. Apparently im not alone down here... He used to work in an Atlanta Pet Shop. He said he can get anything at cost and he was goin up to atlanta soon. What are the chances that wed share this hobby and not know about it...

How very cool. Be sure to pace yourself and don't add too much at a time.

Discovered a small patch of what i think is green or brown slime algae...

ammonia-0
nitrites-0
nitrates-0
phosphates-0
calcium- 360
alk- 179

light is only about 2 months old.

What do i do?
Most solutions were to replace the bulb but it is not old enough.

Re: "Chronicle Marina del Filón de los Carlos"

Usually the slime (cyanobacteria) is just a natural progression of a new tank. It is more opportunistic than other algaes, and normally it comes first, then microalgaes start to outcompete it for food and space and it goes away. The best recommendation I've got to eliminate it for now is to blow it off/suck it out with a turkey baster. I had it for about 3 weeks during the first couple months with my tank, then it disappeared.

Suck it out with the turkey baster. Blowing it around may spread it.

Re: "Chronicle Marina del Filón de los Carlos"

Add a powerhead and aim it at the area that the cyano is growing. That typically means you don't have enough circulation at that spot. Once your tank matures a little more and the cyano goes away, you can remove that PH.
