Re: "Chronicle Marina del Filón de los Carlos"

how does my temp range look?
after the program cooled the tank it stuck around 77.8 to 78.5 lastnight
should i run warmer? cooler? or am i just about right?
of course it will probably change after running MH for 8 hours. hopefully my failsafe will kick in and the 15 minutes it gives the tank will be enough to cool it down.

Re: "Chronicle Marina del Filón de los Carlos"

Temp range looks good.
I dont think you will want to run the MH for 8 hours to start with especially while you are cycling LR. That long of a photo period will probably give you big algae problems. I think I would start at 4 hours and every 3 - 4 weeks add another half hour to the photo period.

Do you have a heater or are you relying on the MH lights to heat the tank?
I wouldn't want the lights to be flashing on and off througout the day and night in order to control temperature

Re: "Chronicle Marina del Filón de los Carlos"

Personally, I like the fans to be on while the lights are on. Point the fans towards the water surface and it accomplishes two things;Cooling the surface temp and causing surface turbulence for gas exchange. I have mine set up that way with my Aqua jr (the fan is plugged into the lighting powerstrip) and the temp is set for heaters on at 77.0 and off at 77.5. It stays right in there. I have three heaters though;one in the overflow, one in the fuge and one in the sump. It's a 120 gallon total sys volume.

Your temp looks fine. One safety feature you may want to program in is "lights off if temp = ??(insert temp here..81? maybe)

My rock came in today... YAY heres some pics.. Its Tunga Fusion rock from Pacific East Aquaculture. It had some nice colors on. Coraline alge all over. i can see some corals on it but i cant tell what they are. theres also a couple sponges on it. they looked ok so i left them on the rock. heres some pics.

heres the great packing job they did.

they sent me one large show piece and a bunch of medium pieces.

there wasnt much rubble in the box. most looks like it fell of the good rock.

and heres my Aquascape... Ill try and get better pics later after the tank has cleared up.

25# ordered
28# shipped
thats without materials
total price 153.00

overall experience was awesome. will do business again with them.

Thanks for following my Progress. Leave Comments.
