| Neon dottyback | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank I love this Yuma's giant green lips - when I got home its mouth was WIDE open so I fed it some phyto and it curled up all funny for a few minute, now it is 30% bigger than before - definitely my favorite shroom, I hope it splits soon...My Zoas are growing, one head at a time on most colonies, pretty quickly, especially the neon greens with brown skirts. I haven't seen any signs of my mushrooms getting ready to split though, anyone have any input on how long they usually take to reproduce naturally? I dont want to force frag them. Freakin cool ![]()

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank THAT is an AWESOME RIC! I've read that Yumas don't like a lot of light so you might want to shield it for a few days to a week and slowly bring it out into the light.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank Yeah, its crazy dark isn't it? The whole tank went from green to purple to the blood red now - The coraline is DEFINITELY the dominant algae- woohoo

| Neon dottyback | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank In an effort to reduce the recuring algae in my tank I am trying purigen - got a 50ml bag and threw it in the back of the tank hoping to reduce the nitrate level which I can never get to 0. Im alittle concerned that the bag(which is good for 50 gallons) may remove good things from the water in addition to the nitrates - Im checking levels daily and will keep updating regularly - In the meantime. my nuclear green zoas are growing out of control, new head every couple days, the eagle eyes, cotton candy and orange bambams though are slow to reproduce - not sure why some species grow quicly and others show no groth at all....

| Neon dottyback | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank I may have gone off of the deep end....I am so in love with how those blue mushrooms have filled out in the back of the tank that yesterday I bought a large rock of green and red ones as well. I know these grow very fast. I moved the zoas at the rear of the tank forward to prevent them from being overrun and spent the evening seeding the back corners of the tank with very small mushroom frags in blue green and red in all the low light and flow areas. The tank looked positively pissed off after when I was through but, I cant wait to get home tonight and see how it all fills out !! Stay tuned for pics. ![]()
