| Sea Pen | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank wow, you're really going at it! it's looking fantastic. i have to say i'm a little envious. i can't wait to get this shrimp fiasco figured out so i can start back on my underwater gardening! great bam bams! i love those little guys. btw, do you superglue out of the water? i found that single polyps were really hard to glue underwater since i didn't want to really press on them at all. did you use tweezers or something? or just gloved hands?

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank can superglue in or out - single polyps are easier out - I messed up the first time I tried to frag off a bad polyp (aipstasia) then read more, learned more - single polyps I frag out of the water...doing well. Zoas are kinda weird, some frags I have got looked great on day one then kinda melted outward, others thrive...others melted away to almost nothing then sprang back...I think its just a matter of being patient after you have them in the position you want. Trying to acclimate carefully even though many folks just say, "throw em in there" I bought a fiji leather today too !!!!! - keeping it at the LFS til next Thursday though have to move the hammer coral around tonight and do some other re-arrranging to ensure eberyone stays happy in there. Im addicted ![]()

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank here is a photo off the melting watermelons...im worried about these guys, as you can see in the arrival photos, they looked great day one. ![]() started a side thread on this topic here: Melting Zoanthids I sure hope they bounce back, they were gorgeous on arrival, the rest of the shipment is fine.

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank after much advice from many members - I tried a furan 2 dip on the watermelons...have left for chicago for the weekend so I will be interested to see how they respond. Fingers crossed. On another note - My pal Ron in NJ (Altis Reef, Farm Raised Frags And More!) sent me a ridiculous package of zoas. Great stuff!!! RADIOACTIVE DRAGON EYES ![]() WHAMMIN WATERMELONS ![]() some Lemon Lime ones (not positive on the id) ![]() and also these guys on a stick, they look like eagle eyes but Im not positive. ![]() Anyway, WHAT a shipment huh? Letting it all settle in while I am away for the next few days then going to have to do some serious arranging of all these guys when I get back Wednesday. Thanks Ron !!

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank Just got back from Chicago last night and did a bunch of pruning and re-arranging of my Zoas. Had my first little battle with apstasia, discovered while arranging all the new new zoas to their new homes - this is going to be a colorful tank when it is all said and done. The yellow fiji leather comes home tonight. I had to move the hammer coral over to the side a little bit and it is very pissed off (read: small at the moment) but stay tuned for new pics tomorrow Woot woot !! p.s. the one batch of watermelons are still very shrunk up and are not looking good. So bizarre - everything else is doing great, the dip didn't do any real good. (as far as I can tell)

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank Bumming - went to pick up my fiji leather last night and it was NOT doing well. (Underside slimy and shedding off) The store didn't want to sell me an ailing leather. They are trying to nurse it back to health in a different tank. No Fiji for me at the moment - ![]() probably just as well after the major influx of zoas to the tank

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank Sounds like you have a nice LFS. Most would go ahead and throw it in a bag and send it home with you.

| Torch coral | Re: Ricks' Oceanic 14G Biocube - my first salt water tank Just a quick photo update - nothing terribly exciting going on - water parameters are steady - Did a bunch of pruning and gluing of the various orange zoas I've aquired in the last few weeks. Will be great to see this all fill in over the next few months. Not even sure of the names of all these - These are both of the left side of my little nano - My little Zoa Ledge - ![]() ![]()
