| RS Sponsor | the 75 to rebuild after the move so i am moving today and thinking about how do i want to set up my tank.... do i want to do sps again or do i want to try a softie tank......... the equipment is not the problem I have everything and then some do either as long as i stuff it in my existing 75g. I am curious about heat issues in s.cal as thats where i will be relocating to. because if heat becomes an issue i will probably go softie with less light. but if its not than I will blast the the tank with light and do another sps frag fest!! muhhahhh! when I get to LA I will have to take a picture of how much personal fish tank stuff I have.

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: the 75 to rebuild after the move I don't think heat is the issue Mattie, it is the energy bill! $0.09/kWhr in NC, I hear it's 2-3x that in southern Cal depending on how much you use and what times you use it. I'm sure Craig or prow can elaborate on it.

| RS Sponsor | Re: the 75 to rebuild after the move how much more is electric and do they charge different rates for different days and times of the day? I thought I had heard that. my original conern is the house is not air conditioned and imy tank has 1000w of light and with the pump and timers it's a warm 1400watt beast
