It will do that too.

It's very much like a tree, it grows out AND up.

I missed the sexy shrimp the first time around. They are so cute. I really want some but have no place to put them.

i really love my sexies. they're so much fun, especially because now they've gotten used to hand feeding and so whenever i reach my hand in and a finger goes near one, it jumps on and begins picking at my cuticles. sexy manicure!! :-D

Re: Tori's First Marine Expedition!! nano style!

well, i haven't added new zoas since the masacre. i'm working on getting the sexies on a regular feeding schdule so that they won't be tempted by tasty polyps.

Re: Tori's First Marine Expedition!! nano style!

wow, it's been awhile!

well, we're moving my slice of the reef back home from my dorm today - wish me luck!! but it moved here without a hitch and no mini-cycle, so i'm hoping to repeat that experience this time around. of course i do have more coral and actual livestock (shrimp)...

i promise new pics after the move (once everything is settled down again)
the leather is doing really wonderfully. it has some absess on it's base, but it seems to be contained to a single cyst-like area, and not affecting the happiness of the leather in any way, so i'm not worried.

i'm working on establishing a regular feeding schedule with shrimp pellets/frozen mysid/brine shrimp on a "feeding spot" so that i can feed them easily really regularly and hopefully start my zoo garden!

i'm also kind of craving a frogspawn...that is one of the shorter-sweeper tentacled LPSs right? i'd like to put it in the upper left corner...

i've also re-revised my stocking list. i know think that after summer (after the move back to the dorm) i'll be adding a yellow watchman goby, then a black oceallaris clown. that should be about 4 inches full grown, right?

Re: Tori's First Marine Expedition!! nano style!

i find that i am always promising pictures and they never get up in a timely fashion. i blame this delay on finals and a lack of batteries. but they will be up in due time...not that they're that exciting...i just haven't posted any for awhile...

but the tank made the move well! it's a trooper that one. i'm pretty amazed that it let us suck 80% of the water out, slosh it around halls, down stairs, and through a 20 min. car ride, then got perfectly happy again the next day. but it did. yay 8 gallon barrier reef!! lol

hopefully there will be some more cool posts soon...new coral additions, etc. i definitly want to start filling up my reef. it's looking a little sparse. beautiful, but sparse.
oh, and fish in august! i'm excited. i can't wait to see a cute little yellow watchman perching on my rocks! hehe.

wow. i really ramble when it's late at night...but i'm cafffinated (venti iced caramel machiato from starbucks (a.k.a. life source)) and i'm fed up with postmodernism (philosophy exam tomorrow) so i went looking for a distraction and ended up here (what's new?)
and i am still rambling.

i'll go now.
