| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build Thanks Terry, i gotta do some framing work around it, then move to the back side, where the real fun begins. I'm planning out the electrical now, next will be the plumbing.

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build I went to HD to get everything needed for the electrical work. I went with a list & knowing what the plan was. 2 hours later i walk out with what i hope is what i need, after 3 different workers argue amoung themselves about what i need to do. ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build Ok, ive got the pumps ordered & will be plumbing soon but i havent ordered my RO/DI unit yet because i havent figured out how to have a ATO with a glass 55g sump. i'm hearing how the water movement throws off the sensors and causes the pump to keep kicking on or cause flooding. Any threads out there that could help me, i can only remember one but not where

| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build I'll get you a pic of the slosh guard I had built. I don't use it anymore because I compensate for sloshing now in the controller program that I wrote.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build Here are the pics of the slosh guard I had built. The float switches are reed style float switches. I drilled a hole through the top of it, just big enough for the reed to slide into it. I cut a piece of pipe that holds the reed at the level of the water I wanted to maintain. I drilled two holes in the bottom cap which allows the water to rise and fall inside the slosh guard. As the water rises and falls, so does the float ball that slides up and down the reed. That is what activates the float switch. This ball can be turned upside down so it can be configured for either Pump Up or Pump Down activation. The entire contraption hangs on the side/back of the tank where I need to monitor the water level. Could be a sump or the display tank. Doesn't matter. You can see how one is lower then the other. When the water level falls enough to set off the lower one, it starts the top off pump. When the water level rises enough to satisfy the lower one, it turns off the top off pump. The higher switch was my safety switch. When the ball is down on it, it is active. If the water rises enough to set the higher one off, then the lower one must have failed to turn off the top off pump so the higher one shuts it off. Here are the pics of everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
